Role Summary Echo Sonographer IV. Includes skills of Sono 1-3 & Adult Congenital +/- HCM & complex pathology. Complete CVT PACT. Responsibilities Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams. Follows established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies patient identity and informs and observes the patient during the procedure to ensure education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement. Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests. Records all testing information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately, following established policy. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel. Maintains a pleasant and informative manner. Makes recommendations to supervisors on related duties, policies, and procedures. Enhances teamwork. Demonstrates motivation, enthusiasm, acceptance of responsibility, and personal accountability. Engages in problem‑solving during difficult situations. Seeks assistance or guidance when appropriate and accepts suggestions positively. Shows understanding of the impact of individual performance on the team and mentors others. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Cleans patient areas after each use and assists in maintaining overall lab cleanliness. Notifies supervisors of stocking or equipment needs. Takes responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate. Cleans and maintains equipment according to infection control policies. Identifies learning needs and responds to department needs. Keeps records of meetings and initiatives to upgrade professional growth. Attends in‑services, lab, and departmental meetings. Strives to increase proficiency in testing and other lab procedures. Suggests new, efficient, or economical techniques, procedures, and processes. Qualifications Registry through CCI or ARDMS. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Echo Sonographer IV. Registered Sonographer +1 (second registry or bachelor’s/master’s, multiple credentials, and/or ACS credential, and/or FASE). Excellent interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication. Basic proficiency with computer systems.
