Recognized as an essential service, the organization has expanded its reach to serve more than 2,300 people daily, providing vital nutritional support and community care.

Position Summary

The Volunteer Services Coordinator provides frontline and administrative support during assigned shifts to ensure a welcoming, organized, and efficient volunteer experience. This role supports daily volunteer operations through volunteer coordination, accurate data entry and recordkeeping, and other administrative responsibilities. The Coordinator provides consistent coverage, operational flexibility, and hands-on support to ensure the smooth delivery of daily volunteer services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Volunteer Operations & Engagement – 60% of this role is volunteer facing

Greet, check in, and assist volunteers during assigned shifts.Support and deliver volunteer orientations as scheduled.Assist with volunteer staffing for kitchen, packing, delivery, and events.Serve as onsite support for volunteers during peak hours.

Communication & Scheduling

Monitor and respond to the Volunteers email inbox and departmental phone during assigned hours.Communicate schedule changes, procedures, and expectations to volunteers.Escalate issues or concerns to the Lead Operations Coordinator or Assistant Manager.

Data, Administration & Compliance – 40% of this role is data entry

Enter and maintain volunteer profiles, hours, and attendance records in the volunteer database, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.Assist with scheduling updates and calendar accuracy.Support documentation and tracking for the Court-Ordered Community Service volunteer program, as assigned.

Events & General Support

Assist with special events, volunteer appreciation activities, and outreach efforts.Maintain organized sign-in sheets, files, and program records.Perform other duties as assigned in support of Volunteer Services operations.Requirements:

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or nonprofit operations. Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. Demonstrates solid knowledge and experience in basic sophisticated data entry and scheduling systems. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Work weekends and holidays when needed. Benefits:
