Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to laboring patients within a high-volume obstetric unit. Manage high-risk pregnancies, assist with deliveries, and respond to obstetric emergencies in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and monitor fetal and maternal status using electronic fetal monitors and telemetry systems.
  
  
• 
  Circulate during labor, deliveries, and obstetric procedures, including cesarean sections and operative vaginal deliveries.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications such as magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and labor induction agents, adhering to safety protocols.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic).
  
  
• 
  Provide postpartum care, newborn stabilization, and support to mothers during recovery.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Credentialed RN with a minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience.
  
  
• 
  Proven ability to interpret fetal monitoring and manage obstetric high-risk situations.
  
  
• 
  Certified in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (AWHONN preferred).
  
  
• 
  Experience circulating cesarean sections and managing obstetric emergencies.
  
  
• 
  Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
  
  
• 
  Comfortable working with electronic medical records and advanced fetal monitoring systems.
