As Joshua's Pest Control's Field Expert/Pest Control Technician, you will be responsible for providing industry-leading pest control services while promoting and maintaining a positive brand and cultural image. You will drive our company vehicles from property to property and inspect for all general pest issues, offer pest control solutions while leaving positive impressions and building lasting customer relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be punctual and reliable. Attend and participate in the daily morning meetings.
- Drive a GPS monitored company vehicle and maintain a minimum Geotab score of 85.
- Represent Joshua's Pest Control in a positive light with all customers and all other individuals you interact with.
- Inspect structures, yards, fixtures, and other applicable areas for general pest activity.
- Create custom pest control treatments for each customer.
- Review service notes prior to treatment and with customer after treatment.
- Verify/obtain signed agreements and automatic payments prior to service.
- Collect payments and follow up on collections: Maintain a collection rate of 24%.
- Explain product and service expectations to customers.
- Implement integrated pest management practices with customers that help prevent future infestation.
- Provide 5 star service and obtain 5 star reviews.
- Ring doorbells/knock on doors prior to each service and greet customers.
- Responsible for completing a daily assigned route of 18 stops/18 properties in a timely manner. Must maintain a minimum completion rate of 96%.
- Operate machinery, hand tools, and other power tools.
- Work independently as well as part of a team. Contribute to team/department goals.
- Positively and collaboratively communicate with office staff and other technicians.
- Write comprehensive notes for each service provided regarding inspection findings, service plan details, products used, and any additional follow-up that may be needed.
- Remove all spider webs from homes, structures, yards, fences, fixtures among other items and areas that may harbor spider webs.
- Inspect-for and treat all general pests including but not limited to ants, spiders, cockroaches, rodents, fleas, ticks, pantry moths, silverfish, and many others.
- Maintain a clean and orderly company assigned vehicle on a daily basis.
- Submit pesticide product orders and maintain equipment.
- Responsible to ensure pesticide inventory and equipment in your vehicle is capable of treating any pest issue.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be insurable by the company's vehicle fleet insurance.
- Must be comfortable driving for long periods of time.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. (Those seeking to pursue or are in higher education are also welcome to apply!)
- Must be on time every day and complete routes as assigned daily with a completion rate of 96% or greater.
- Applicants must be eligible to receive a license from the Structural Pest Control Board.
- Must pass applicable state license exams to be considered for continued employment.
8-10 hour work days, 5 days per week, including Saturdays. Overtime is common and a daily expectation. This is a route-based shift and does not have a designated end time. When you are finished with your 18 stops route, you are done for the day.
