Sales Engineer

Experienced Sales Engineer with 10+ years in pre-sales and deep expertise in Rocket Software ETX, secure virtual desktop infrastructure, and enterprise connectivity. Strong technical background across Linux/Unix/Windows, mainframe environments, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers, REST APIs, and network security. Skilled in authentication technologies (SSO, MFA, EntraID, OKTA) and scripting languages.

In this role, the candidate supports sales teams by delivering demos, driving POCs, and building trusted customer relationships across EMEA and the DACH region. Acts as an ETX subject matter expert, mentors colleagues, and collaborates closely with regional and virtual sales engineering teams to help close new and existing business.

Responsibilities:

• Support the sales team at Rocket Software to successfully close business with new and existing customers, either direct or through the partner channel.
• Build long-term customer relationships in existing and new accounts.
• Deliver compelling demonstrations and solution overviews in order to achieve trusted advisor status within key Rocket accounts.
• Complete POCs that provide the link between business use case and technical solution.
• As an ETX subject matter expert, provide mentorship and guidance both internally and externally.
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to develop peer level, champion relationships.
• Work as part of the virtual Connectivity Sales Engineering Team that spans the whole of EMEA.
• Work as part of the DACH regional Sales Engineering Team and your local colleagues.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years' experience in sales engineering or pre-sales technical roles.
• 10+ years' experience with Rocket Software ETX.
• Subject matter expert on the secure virtual desktop infrastructure market including vendors, trends and key priorities of end users.
• Subject matter expert on ex Opentext Connectivity products including, Exceed, HostExplorer, NFS Maestro Solo, Client, Server and Gateway
• Technical expert on Linux, Unix & Windows operating systems.
• Good understanding of mainframe and as/400 environments and connectivity.
• Expert on containerisation, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience of REST API development
• Network security & encryption experience i.e. TLS, SSH, VPN, TN3270, SSL)
• Good knowledge of Authentication processes and solutions including SSO, MFA, EntraID and OKTA
• Scripting language experience such as Python, JS, C#.
• A good level of advanced education is expected but this role is all about the experience and knowledge described in the Qualifications section.
