Budget Analyst

The Finance Office of the University of Maryland Marlene andStewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) isrecruiting for a Budget Analyst. The selected candidate willneed skills and competency to track spending on grants for itsprincipal investigators, which includes generating and distributingaccurate monthly reports, analyzing monthly reports and clearingdeficits, and monitoring purchase orders on grant/sponsor projects.This is a partially remote position. Primary Duties Act as the Quantum Financials transaction initiator/receiverfor Oncology Finance by initiating requisitions, non-PO checkrequests, customer billing and debit memos. Track and documenttransactions workflow life cycle. Compile supporting documents for purchases and prepare monthlyreconciliation reports. Serve as financial liaison to Administrative Assistants forclinical faculty transactions such as travel, dues, licenses as itrelates to Oncology Practice. Document reimbursements in quarterlyclinical discretionary reports. Collect and record applicable formsfor clinical faculty with their assigned assistant. Provide technical advice and support to Oncology FellowsCoordinator for payments, guest travel and disbursements related totheir program at UMMC. Initiate Oncology Practice vendor payments for approval, whileacting as approver of reimbursements created by other initiators inFPI doc-link system. Visit the University Cashier to make departmental deposits andpick-up working fund checks by appointment. Prepare deposit recordsand make deposits at M&T Bank related to OncologyPractice. Prepare various Foundation disbursements and cost recoveries inapplicable UMBF, UMMF and USMF applications. Follow the lifecycleof disbursements. Create departmental tracking mechanism for all transactiontypes so Finance Team has timely and accurate records to providerecipients. Provide support for events as the departmental parkingvalidator with UMB Parking and Transportation Services. Retrieve US and Interoffice mail from mailroom and distributeto recipients. Prepares and assembles statistical data and reports for use inbudgetary evaluation, maintaining downloaded data to coordinatenecessary computer files. Examines a variety of financial statements for completeness andaccuracy and conformity with fiscal policy, assisting inmaintenance and reconciliation where needed. Provides technicaladvice and assistance to departmental faculty and managers onadherence to budget and control procedures. Produce and analyze sections of special reports and projects orparticipate in additional departmental and administrative servicesas needed. Review historical award tracking systems for compliance andaccuracy of reporting and develop new systems as needed. Programmatic objectives of sponsored program budgeting whileadhering to grant and contract agency guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications : Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting,Economics, Business Administration, or business-related field.Master's degree preferred. Experience: Two (2) years of experience in accounting,budgeting, or related field. Other: Related experience may be substituted foreducation. Hiring Range: $63,000 - $71,000, commensurate with educationand experience.
