Position Summary

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for supervising the Brooklyn, NY retail team. This individual supervises the development and maintenance of positive customer relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the daily operations of the retail stores, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for overseeing the operations of the Brooklyn, NY Yummy Extensions retail store location, including staffing within store security guidelines
• Responsible for creating and maintaining the Retail Handbooks, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
• Responsible for ensuring the department meets the monthly KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and sales goals
• Portray a positive company image and engage in professional and friendly communications with internal and external customers
• Develops and facilitates training for all retail team members
• Manages store expenses, budgets, and inventory control, in order to optimize profitability
• Manages all store labor, scheduling, and staffing
• Actively recruits and hires quality talent to add to team, planning for and creating talent bench
• Trains and coaches on all procedures, processes, and controls utilized daily to protect inventory and maximize company sales and profitability
• Resolves conflicts as soon as they arise, finding common ground and settling disputes fairly and with minimal disruption
• Structures messages in a clear logical manner using the most appropriate communication medium
• Creates and executes monthly sales strategies with the intent to exceed sales goals
• Upselling and cross-selling with the intent to exceed store sales goals
• Collaborate with Customer Experience Manager to coordinate all customer experience events (pop up shops, instore only events, etc.)
• Responsible for strategizing and creating marketing promotional materials as directed by marketing team, supervising any delegations of these tasks
• Actively listening to customer needs and inquiries to determine appropriate service actions and supervising the rectification of customer concerns
• Address all customer experience escalations for instore customers
• Responsible for the accuracy of product and supplies inventory at all retail locations. This includes inputting and maintenance of inventory levels in point-of-sale system
• Responsible for price accuracy in the point-of-Sale systems at all retail locations
• Responsible for replenishment of product and supplies inventory at all retail locations
• Perform daily audits of all retail store functions and provide reporting to department head
• Provide daily/weekly status to department head
• Collaborate with Customer Experience Manager with addressing customer inquiries as needed
• Responsible for cleaning the inside of the store and its surroundings, supervising any delegations of these tasks
• Responsible for maintaining the retail store, including scheduling and overseeing repairs, services, or maintenance that may be needed from time to time
• Cross-train in Customer Service and Fulfillment departments
• Other duties as assigned that are deemed reasonable by the Department Head

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 4+ years prior experience in luxury beauty sales with a strong focus in eCommerce, retail sales, and customer experience functions.
• 3+ years prior experience managing a team of up to 5 retail associates.
• Previous experience in managing customer-focused KPIs.
• Previous experience utilizing a scheduling platform. Experience using Homebase is a plus.
• Ability to work full-time, up to and including overtime as needed.
• Cosmetologist license is preferred.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business need, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Stays informed of business drivers, industry trends, and competitors, applying knowledge to identify and pursue new opportunities.
• Proactively shares information, best practices, and new ideas with team to improve business and performance.
• Demonstrates strong decision-making skills (e.g., problem definition, data analysis, hypothesis testing, asking for input).
• Uses critical thinking skills to analyze problems and to recommend viable solutions
• 30% travel may be needed for business need.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, and software manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
