About the Position

Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU RN – North Carolina

Start Date: July 23, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Every other weekend required; 12-hour shifts with 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios depending on acuity (may be 1:3 for downgraded patients). Shift start time 6:45 AM for day shift. Overtime requires approval.

Highlights:

• 19-bed mixed cardiovascular ICU/recovery unit providing care for approximately 850 heart surgery patients annually
• High-acuity environment with advanced cardiac devices including ECMO, Impella, IABP, and LVAD support
• Cerner EMR system with GE monitoring equipment
• Comprehensive orientation with dedicated educator and experienced charge nurses available on all shifts
• Strong team support with 13 dayshift RNs, 11 nightshift RNs, and nurse aides on every shift
• Opportunities to perform procedures including chest tube removal, pacer wire removal, intubation/extubation, and hemodynamic monitoring

Requirements:

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience required
• Critical care training required
• Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care preferred
• Valid RN license in North Carolina or ability to obtain
• Ability to float to other ICUs and stepdown units as needed
