Outpatient Infusion/Oncology Registered Nurse

Location: Lacey, WA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), 07:30 AM - 04:00 PM. Start times typically range between 07:15 AM and 07:45 AM. Shifts may vary, working until the last patient is seen. No holidays or weekends are required.

Job Description: The Outpatient Infusion/Oncology Registered Nurse will provide care for oncology patients requiring chemotherapy and immunotherapy, along with hematology and non-oncology infusion patients across various specialties such as rheumatology, GI, neurology, and pulmonology. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, managing patient care, and ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients during treatments.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies safely and effectively.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage side effects related to therapy.
• Provide patient education and support to individuals and families regarding treatment plans and side effects.
• Maintain equipment and supplies needed for patient care.
• Document patient care and treatment in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN licensure and Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC).
• BLS certification required; OCN preferred.
• Experience in an infusion center or outpatient oncology setting is highly desirable.
• Skills in accessing and managing ports, performing therapeutic phlebotomy, and administering IM and subcutaneous injections.
• Experience with Epic charting system is a plus.
• Ability to handle cytotoxic spills and utilize isolation precautions as necessary.
