Location Bishop O’Gorman High School, Sioux Falls, SD Job Description Promote the mission and values of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools. Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans that adhere to system curriculum maps. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources. Identify and select instructional resources and methods to meet diverse student needs. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. Use relevant technology to support instruction. Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods. Observe, monitor, and evaluate student progress and performance. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, assignments, and enter grades online. Provide appropriate and timely feedback on work. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development. Provide student supervision and discipline. Perform pastoral duties, including student support and counseling academic issues. Uphold professionalism and confidentiality. Participate in school events, fundraisers, department and parent meetings. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents. Attend parent‑teacher conferences. Assume responsibility for classrooms and school property. Maintain accurate inventory of classroom materials and supplies. Essential Qualifications Willingness and ability to effectively communicate the Catholic Church’s teachings through ministry activities. Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith by living professional and personal life in accordance with Roman Catholic doctrine. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. State teaching certification. Demonstrate core values of the school: Faith, Unity, Excellence, Integrity. Knowledge of relevant technology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Self‑motivated with high energy. Physical Demands Work daytime hours, primarily Monday‑Friday. Clarity of vision. Clear spoken English. Good hearing and ability to distinguish sounds. Fine hand motor skills for keyboarding, writing, grasping, holding.
