We are committed to contributing positively to the communities where we live, work and play.Maintenance Tech IIBase Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour2nd Shift: 3:45 PM - 12:15 AM Mon - FriPosition Summary The Extrusion Maintenance Technician Level II is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of extrusion equipment and supporting systems. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports production goals through proactive and corrective maintenance activities.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairPerform preventive and predictive maintenance on extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.Replace and align components such as screws, barrels, gearboxes, heaters, motors, and sensors.Assist with die changes, calibrations, and setup support.TroubleshootingIdentify root causes of equipment failures and recurring issues.Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.Perform basic PLC diagnostics including input/output checks.Continuous ImprovementParticipate in root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.Recommend improvements to increase uptime and efficiency.Support 5S and TPM initiatives.Safety & ComplianceFollow all safety procedures including LOTO.Ensure repairs meet OSHA and company standards.Maintain clean and organized work areas.DocumentationDocument maintenance work and downtime in CMMS.Communicate shift status to team members.Support & CollaborationWork with production, supervisors, and engineering.Provide support during startups and shutdowns.Train Level I technicians on basic maintenance tasks.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in extrusion.Technical SkillsKnowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Basic PLC troubleshooting experience.Ability to use diagnostic and precision tools.Preferred ExperienceExtrusion equipment including screws, dies, and downstream equipment.Heating/cooling systems and tooling maintenance.CompetenciesStrong problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently.Good communication and teamwork.Attention to detail and time management.Physical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs.Stand, walk, bend, and climb.Work in heat, noise, and industrial conditions.Work EnvironmentManufacturing plant setting.May require overtime and shift work.Level II DifferentiationIndependently troubleshoot most issues.Handle moderately complex repairs without supervision.Mentor junior technicians.Participate in improvement initiatives.Additional InformationSite Location: 1 Silverline Dr. North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?Our teams are at the heart of our purpose to positively contribute to the communities where we live, work and play.
