Senior Security Engineer

Overview Everlaw is looking for a Senior Security Engineer. Reporting to the Director, Security Engineering, you will lead a team of security engineers to build and integrate tools for a scalable and efficient secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC). Security is a main strategic pillar at Everlaw, and we are looking for someone to help us execute on that strategy and protect our most valuable asset—our customer data. We handle some of the world’s most high‑profile cases with the Everlaw Platform, and keeping data safe across distributed systems, varied databases, and differing physical locations requires a passion for learning new technologies and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead a team of security engineers to build and integrate tools to ensure a scalable and efficient SSDLC. Advise other engineers on building a secure platform. Lead threat‑modeling sessions, conduct security design reviews, and review code and configuration changes. Build out security improvements on our AWS accounts , covering authentication, authorization, threat detection, encryption, and attack‑surface reduction. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, IT, and GRC teams to probe for vulnerabilities, assess risk, and advise on remediation. Triage security events and respond to incidents , containing them and guiding recovery to minimize recurrence. Develop new security processes, procedures, and runbooks , refining existing ones to support rapid growth. Find creative ways to solve problems without stifling innovation while building a security mindset across the organization. Qualifications Interest in security and a desire to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities. At least 4 years of experience in security. Programming skills in at least one scripting language (Python recommended). Strong problem‑identification and exploitation/defense skills. Excellent collaboration and communication across teams. Creative approach to balancing security and usability. Understanding of effective security processes. Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions. (No F‑1 visa sponsorship.) Pluses Experience with SaaS environments and distributed systems. Programming skills in a compiled language (Java, Go, C++, etc.). Experience with AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Git, and other infrastructure tools. Benefits Salary range $215,000 – $272,000 (dependent on experience).
