What You'll Do

• Perform a Variety of Ultrasound Exams
  Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, obstetric, and musculoskeletal studies with a high standard of accuracy.
• Operate Ultrasound Equipment Efficiently
  Adjust technical settings to ensure optimal image quality and proper documentation for diagnostic review.
• Support Patient Comfort and Care
  Explain procedures clearly, position patients appropriately, and maintain a caring bedside manner to ensure comfort and confidence.
• Collaborate with Clinical Teams
  Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and nurses to provide accurate information that supports timely and effective patient care decisions.
• Maintain Accurate Records
  Document findings and patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Provide Patient Education
  Answer patient questions and provide reassurance throughout the ultrasound experience, building trust and promoting understanding.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance
  Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AIUM, and facility-specific policies.
• Monitor Equipment Functionality
  Perform routine checks on ultrasound machines and report technical issues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Stay Current with Best Practices
  Engage in continuing education and stay informed on the latest advancements in sonography techniques and technology.

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related field

Certification & Licensure:

• Certified by ARDMS or ARRT (S)
• Louisiana state licensure, if applicable

Experience & Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
• Excellent technical knowledge of sonographic imaging and anatomy
• Proficiency with modern ultrasound systems and EMR platforms
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends or on-call as needed
