Department: Med Surg Unit

Duration: 3+ Months

Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry

Shift: Night Shift, 12 Hours

Schedule: 3 Nights per Week | 36 Hours per Week


Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Med Surg/Telemetry unit. The RN serves as a leader in patient care delivery, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and professional nursing standards. This role is responsible for coordinating patient care, leading interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting team members, and ensuring quality patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education and support.
• Coordinate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Use clinical data and evidence-based practices to improve patient care and outcomes.
• Promote patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and professional nursing excellence.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to meet the unique needs of individual patients.
• Respect patient privacy and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
• Demonstrate leadership, accountability, and sound clinical judgment.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


Education

• Registered Nurse Diploma required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Specialty certification preferred.

• Proficiency with computer systems, software applications, and electronic medical records.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy work, including lifting, moving, transferring, and assisting patients as needed.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift.

Work Environment

• Direct patient care setting with routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and infectious materials.
• Potential occupational exposure to communicable diseases.
• Possible exposure to hazardous medications and healthcare-related hazardous waste.
• Must adhere to all infection prevention, safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
