Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is accountable for performing a variety of general, mechanical and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections, repairing and moving of equipment throughout assigned facilities.What you will do:Consults with and keeps supervisor informed on progress and any problems with assigned projects.Maintains all required records and pertinent information.Has knowledge of trends, standards, and legalities of practice and activities of department and facilities.Demonstrates ability to perform and finish carpentry work.Demonstrates ability to install sheetrock, plaster, metal studs (building materials) and perform culking.Demonstrates ability to install locks and other door and cabinet hardware.Demonstrates ability to assemble and install basic cabinetry and interpret drawings.Operates and maintains boilers and takes appropriate action for safe operation.Essential Qualifications:High School or GED EquivalentDriver's License (MN) - Minnesota Department of Public Safety Upon HireBoiler Operator - Licensing Board within 180 Days1-3 years experience in a related field.Expectations and Standards:Commitment to the daily application of Avera's mission, vision, core values, and social principles to serve patients, their families, and our community.Promote Avera's values of compassion, hospitality, and stewardship.Uphold Avera's standards of Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement (CARE) with enthusiasm and sincerity.Maintain confidentiality.Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating work flow with other team members and ensuring a productive and efficient environment.Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards associated with, but not limited to, CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, and OSHA if applicable.Avera is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, Veteran Status, or other categories protected by law.
