FINANCIAL ADVISOR

Summary Interviews incoming patient or representative andenters information required for admission into computer by performing thefollowing duties. Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned. Interviews patient orrepresentative to obtain all accurate information needed to perform and billfor services provided. Obtains signaturesneeded to provide services and authorizations for treatment. Records allinformation accurately in healthcare software system. Scans insurance cards,personal identification, and any signed documents into the healthcare software. Verifies eligibilityof insurance and obtains signatures on services not covered by insurance(ABNs). Provides patients withan estimate of their costs and obtains payment on their account. Posts payments to patient'saccounts. Notifies department oftesting required and directs patient to department. Answers phone callsand directs communication to departments. Gives general information.
OTHER DUTIES: Handles all Bankruptcies asrequired by law. Files Creditor's Claim ondecease patients who have an estate. Updates address frommail returns or outside collection agency. Completes registrationon specimens processed in lab. Balances cash drawereach day. Works with outsidecollection agencies to obtain payments. Processes weekly BadDebt (including Medicare Bad Debt) and prepares reports for additional outsidecollection agency.
