We are seeking two dedicated paraprofessionals with advanced American Sign Language (ASL) skills to provide vital assistance in both elementary and middle school settings. These full-time, contract positions are perfect for professionals passionate about creating accessible and inclusive classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated proficiency in ASL—beyond basic finger spelling and common signs
- Prior experience in educational support, preferably within elementary or middle school environments
- Ability to foster student engagement and promote a positive learning experience
- Comfortable collaborating closely with general education and special education staff
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom and one-on-one support to students needing ASL interpretation or communication assistance
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers using advanced sign language skills
- Assist teachers by reinforcing instructional content, supporting classroom management, and adapting activities as needed
- Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and regular progress reporting with staff and faculty
- Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and inclusive educational setting for all students
