We offer a **$500 sign-on bonus** for all new hires paid after 180 days of employment. **Job Description:** This position is responsible for maintenance of facility and repair of manufacturing equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. **Physical Requirements:** **Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends, and available for overtime.** * Applicants will be considered for a General Mechanic opening in Maintenance Department for executing maintenance and repair work associated with CMMS work orders including repairing line equipment (mixers, grinders, clipper stuffers, slicers, labelers, multivacs, etc) * Pre-check and setup of equipment; cutting, welding electrical work and other duties as assigned. * Be willing and able to tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below for entire shift. * Be able to lift 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly. * Be able to walk and stand on cement floor for the shift duration. * Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. * Must have basic math skills and computer knowledge. * Ability to read and comprehend product specifications sheets, assess equipment, and demonstrate mechanical knowledge Working knowledge of USDA regulations, plant sanitation standards and procedures preferred. * Weekly, monthly, semi-Annual inspection throughout the facility including but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Sprinkler system, Eye wash / shower Stations, Emergency Lighting, Alarm for access doors, Rail Inspections. * Lighting Repairs throughout the Facility, Repair / replace copper pipes (soldering copper) Pipe Threading of a sizes and types of material. Repairs to Toilets, sinks, Water Heaters. Must have basic math skills and computer skills.
