Description This position completes billing and statistical data entry for Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance; interviews patients, documents and verifies financial eligibility; processes claims for submission, prepares correspondence, collects fees, and handles additional related duties. Requirements Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation-from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience. Preferences: Computer data entry experience, medical insurance billing and coding experience, and the ability to communicate well with the public and work cooperatively with patients and staff. All health department employees (with the exception of individuals with an accommodation or medical exemption) are required to get an annual flu shot vaccine as part of condition of employment.
