Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Critical Care Float RN requiring 2 years of ICU experience, prior charge experience, and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Critical care float pool covering SICU, MICU, CCU, and Oncology ICU units
• SICU cares for trauma, surgical complication, neuro, and open-heart surgery patients
• MICU cares for critically ill patients with exacerbated medical comorbidities
• CCU cares for post-cardiac procedure patients requiring additional monitoring
• Oncology ICU cares for critically ill oncology patients and those requiring chemo inductions
• All ICU units manage DKA, ETOH withdrawal, and other high-acuity patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Every other weekend required, including Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday coverage may be required if a holiday falls during the assignment
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Flexible scheduling preferred
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, within the last year in current specialty
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• All certifications must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale and stroke education required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Strong critical care skill set required, including IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, ventilator management, CRRT, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with neuro critical care skills such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and stroke management preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular interventions such as IABP, TAVR, and ECMO preferred
• SSN required at time of consideration
• One supervisory reference required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units based on facility needs
• Candidates cannot work Riverside travel and per diem contracts simultaneously; must choose one
• Previous permanent employees must have a 6-month gap before returning as a traveler
• RTO should be minimal, with no calendar week off preferred and no more than 7 days total during the assignment
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of initial submission and confirmed prior to start; no additional RTO approved after offer
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
• Travel experience not required, so first-time travelers may be considered
