MRI Technologist

This position requires a skilled MRI Technologist to work in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. The facility serves both inpatient and outpatient populations, including adults and occasionally pediatrics.

Facility Overview

• Number of Beds: 492
• Location: Montgomery, AL
• Level I Trauma Center
• Level III NICU
• Primary Stroke Center

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of MRI procedures including head/neck, abdomen, pelvis, spine, extremities, and MRAs.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
• Average patient ratio is 1:1, with an expected volume of approximately 40 patients per day.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required for all applicants.
• ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification is required for all MRI Technologists.
• A minimum of 1-year experience is required, or 2 years of experience with required skills for first-time travelers.

Technology and Equipment

• MRI equipment includes GE Artist 1.5T.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.

Work Environment

• Position involves working in the main Radiology department and rotating through different areas.
• Orientation includes 1-8 hour hospital orientation followed by 2-3 shifts on the unit.
• Typical scheduling includes weekends and holiday expectations according to hospital policy.
• Free parking is available for staff.

Scheduling and Shift Details

• Shift options: 12-hour, 10-hour, and 8-hour shifts available.
• Weekend rotation is typically once a month but may vary based on departmental needs.
• Requests for time-off approval must be communicated directly to management, especially for more than 7 days.

• Centralized transport services are available during specified hours to assist with patient movement within the facility.
