License: Active RN license

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have:

• Minimum 1 year IMCU experience
• 2+ years recent medical-surgical and telemetry experience
• Experience in neuro care, myocardial infarctions, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry rhythm strips
• Completion of a telemetry test on the first day

Description: FLEX - 12-hour shifts with a day/night rotation. Every other weekend and holiday required. Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be considered for local rates. Previous permanent staff are not eligible for submission as travelers. Unit sees a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medical-surgical patients. The workload includes a high volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients. Responsibilities involve caring for patients on chronic ventilators, with tracheostomies, and those experiencing high acuity heart failure. The unit has 27 beds with an average patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 or 1:4-5 for medical-surgical patients. Candidates should possess critical care experience.
