Deposit Operations Specialist II

Position Deposit Operations Specialist II Description Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the Deposit Operations Department including but not limited to the duties of a Deposit Operations Specialist I; coordinating their work within the unit or department as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; assisting the supervisor with various tasks to support the department’s operations. Essential Duties Demonstrate core values and guiding principles as outlined in the Bank’s Mission, Vision and Value Statements. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers with prompt, polite communication. Participate as a member of the team and contribute positively to the Bank’s strategic plan. Support management and ensure all activities comply with company policies, state and federal regulations. Process Fed cash letter adjustments, write‑offs for returns, and communicate with the Federal Reserve Bank. Review and process ACH pre‑notifications and reconcile duplicate items. Administer and report all IOLA accounts and remit to IOLA Fund of New York. Review basic IRA paperwork for correct completion and coding. Complete mobile banking tasks including approval of new customers and manage RDA deposit exceptions. Support Retail Online Banking tasks for customer access to online banking. Manage bill pay accounts for existing customers. Maintain records for deceased account holders, including file maintenance, holds, and reclamation of funds. Process address changes, unauthorized ACH transaction affidavits, milestone checks. Collaborate within department and across departments to ensure efficient communication and workflow. Provide leadership, training, and technical guidance to lower‑level specialists and new employees. Adhere to all internal policies, procedures and annual training related to risk management (BSA, AML, UCC, Regulation CC, E, J, IRA Rules, NY EIPA, CPLR, federal attachment orders). Communicate pertinent information to the supervisor and compile reports as needed. Assist supervisor with administrative tasks and special projects. Ancillary Duties Perform other related duties as assigned or directed. Salary Range $17.82 - $22.15 Hourly Job Location & Environment Operations Building – 1st Floor Equipment, Machines, Software Telephone Computer Adding Machine Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax machine Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook ATM Position Requirements Basic Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent with emphasis in a business curriculum. Strong customer relations, interpersonal skills, accuracy, reliability, flexibility, professional etiquette. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and strong time‑management skills. Proficiency in reading, writing, basic business knowledge. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Team player with proven ability to work independently. Expected to complete work satisfactorily after 9‑12 months of training. Experience A minimum of one to two years related experience normally required. Physical Demand Sit or stand for extended periods. Read small print or complex reports. Communicate orally effectively. Operate keyboard, mouse and other personal computing devices manually.
