About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery (L&D) / Med-Surg for a 13-week contract position in Le Mars, Iowa. The RN will primarily provide obstetric and Labor & Delivery nursing care and will support the Medical-Surgical unit when there are no active OB needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for obstetric and Labor & Delivery patients throughout assessment, labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.

• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

• Provide Medical-Surgical nursing coverage when obstetric patient-care needs are low.

• Serve as Charge RN when assigned and coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic while supporting required weekday, weekend, and holiday scheduling.

Requirements

• Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License Required by Start of Assignment; Licensure May Be Obtained Upon Acceptance.

• Minimum 5 Years of Registered Nursing Experience Required.

• Obstetrics (OB) and Labor & Delivery (L&D) Nursing Experience Required.

• Medical-Surgical Nursing Experience Required for Cross-Coverage Responsibilities.

• Ability to Perform Charge RN Responsibilities and Work 12-Hour Night, Weekend, and Holiday Shifts as Assigned.

The Labor & Delivery / Med-Surg Registered Nurse will provide flexible, patient-centered nursing care across obstetric and medical-surgical services while supporting safe clinical outcomes.
