Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 26 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, evenings\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Evenings, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 26 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department role requiring ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC certifications.Details\n \n Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department in an acute care hospital setting\n 65-bed unit with all private rooms and 2 trauma bays\n Cares for a wide range of patients from newborns to elderly with varying acuity, including critically ill, stroke, cardiac arrest, and stabilized trauma patients\n Travelers may care for trauma patients once stabilized and transferred out of the trauma bay, but typically will not serve as primary nurse in the trauma bay itself\n Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5 based on acuity\n EPIC EMR used\n 12-hour evening shifts (12P-12A)\n Every other weekend rotation required\n Every other holiday or as needed based on department needs, negotiable per contract\n No on-call or standby requirement\n Rare floating possible to other units in a 'help all' capacity only\n Uses Philips cardiac monitors with orientation provided\n Respiratory therapists assist with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment\n Radiology staff or transport handle patient transport for X-ray or CT\n Requirements\n \n Active IL RN license required\n BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications required\n TNCC or TNS certification required\n Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred\n At least 1 prior travel assignment preferred\n Must be proficient in titrating vasopressor and cardiac drips as well as antihypertensive medications\n Must be able to interpret and act on cardiac rhythms independently\n SANE RN experience preferred\n Experience at a teaching hospital with residents preferred\n Negative drug screen required for all panels\n Additional Information\n \n Care team includes 2 charge nurses, a 24/7 house supervisor, and ED techs at a 1:9 ratio\n Charge nurses do not typically take patient assignments but may assist as second nurse for traumas or critical patients\n Minimum of 3 attending physicians staffed at all times, with additional mid-levels as needed\n 12 hours of non-billable orientation provided; guaranteed hours do not apply during this time\n No specific scrub color required, though tasteful, solid-colored shirts under scrubs are expected\n Local candidates accepted with a reduced local bill rate for those within 50 miles of the facility\n First-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752712.
