This role leads the CTM Platform team, the technology foundation that powers intelligence, monitoring, and response across every cyber threat function at PayPal, spanning data, infrastructure/tooling, and detection logic. This is a hands on technical leadership role. The Sr. Manager will build and operate the platform today while shaping its strategic direction as it scales, including the continued evolution towards agentic response across the threat lifecycle.Job Description:Essential Responsibilities: Recognized as a cyber threat management expert, independently resolving the most complex challenges, and providing strategic direction on problem resolution across the security domain.Define methods and procedures for new or special assignments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive security initiatives that align with business needs and objectives.Lead complex, high-impact security projects of diverse scope, applying an in-depth understanding of business trends and security challenges to develop innovative solutions that strengthen threat management and overall security posture.Possess a keen awareness of the broader impact of decisions, with initiatives often leading to enterprise-wide improvements that enhance security practices, operational efficiency and organizational resilience.Lead a cyber threat management team; set clear priorities and define actionable plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Guide team members through complex challenges, fostering their growth and development while maintaining a focus on high-impact results.Minimum Qualifications:8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience leading othersAdditional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:Additional Responsibilities:Own and operate the technology platform underpinning CTM's intel, monitoring, and response capabilities, including data pipelines, infrastructure/tooling, and detection logic, ensuring reliability and scale across all cyber threat functions.Lead and grow a team of platform and data science engineers, setting priorities and technical direction while directly managing staff.Continue to support migration paths to cutting edge and more efficient methods for detection and response, ensuring the platform evolves ahead of emerging threats.Build and operate automation and AI capabilities today, while defining the strategic roadmap toward agentic response across the threat lifecycle as the function matures.Partner directly with cyber operations teams (Monitoring, Incident Response, Threat Intel, Offensive Security) to deliver platform capabilities at a speed that matches the adversary.Serve as a recognized platform engineering expert within Cyber Threat Management, resolving complex technical challenges and providing strategic direction on platform architecture and delivery.Preferred Qualifications:Prior hands-on experience with Google SecOps (formerly Chronicle) SIEM/SOAR, Google Threat Intelligence Enterprise Plus, Bindplane for data pipeline/collection, and Exabeam for UBA is preferred.Subsidiary:PayPalTravel Percent:0-The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring.
