Pharmacy Technician

Hillsdale Hospital 168 S Howell St Hillsdale, MI 49242, USA Description Work Schedule The hospital pharmacy is open Monday - Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm. Technicians work 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule which includes every 5th weekend. Paid Time Off: includes vacation, sick days and holidays Retirement: 403(b) with match Education assistance and continuing education Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution Current pharmacy technician license required Previous hospital-based pharmacy experience preferred Basic math, computer, and telephone skills are necessary; medical terminology helpful Manual dexterity, mobility and good visual acuity required BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital) Responsibilities Count, package and label unit dose and bulk medication for inspection by pharmacist Replenish floor stock and distribute medications to nursing units Assist pharmacist in filling orders and prepare labels including oral dosage forms and admixture of sterile products Order, receive and store pharmacy materials Maintain inventory, order and cleanliness of storage area including the removal of outdated inventory Use vendor websites to verify availability and pricing Perform accounting tasks such as cash register deposits and end of month reports Why Hillsdale Hospital Hillsdale Hospital is dedicated to excellence in healthcare community service, continued improvement, and respect for human life.
