Job Description GENERAL SUMMARY The Barista is responsible for serving beverages and snacks to guests at the Coffee Stand. The duties include brewing coffee, tea and chocolate using coffee urns; dripping or vacuuming coffee makers, espresso machines, teapots, drink mixers, and other kitchen equipment; and preforming cash transaction. Pay Rate:$16.00 CORE SCOPE OF POSITION * Responsible for providing the freshest, highest quality coffees and teas. * Communicates with guests with a smile, demonstrating confidence and encourages all guests to feel unique and special. Creates relationships with our guests by providing best in class hospitality and constantly exceeding guest expectations. * Prepares specialized coffee drinks, such as espressos, caf latte and/or cappuccino, by brewing espresso and steaming milk. Prepares and serves iced beverage such as coffee, tea and bottled drinks. * Rotates inventory including breads, condiments, consumables and perishables. * Creates enthusiasm by inviting guests and team members to participate in the growth of knowledge about coffee and teas. * Tenders all sales. Tracks inventory when slow to ensure the Coffee Bar stays stocked with necessities. * Logs all beverages into the point of sales service system within prescribed time limits according to training guidelines. * Supports other team members by being aware of other guest's needs outside of their own areas. Alerts other team members when guests would like to order food items. * Adheres to all Food and Beverage policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation procedures. * Ensures all health regulations are maintained to prevent food borne illnesses. * Follows and complies with applicable governmental laws and regulations, company and departmental policies and standard operating procedures. * Practices safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others, including the safe operation of all relevant equipment and machinery and maintains clean, safe, and hazard work environment. * Maintains professionalism and strives to be the most knowledgeable and productive in the industry. * Performs other related and compatible duties as assigned. INTERACTION * Interacts with internal and external guests. SUPERVISION * Does not provide supervision to other team members. Required Skills KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. * Excellent verbal and interpersonal relations skills. * Demonstrated proficiency in cash handling. * Demonstrated good judgment when handling guest issues and complaints. * Must be organized and able to work with speed and efficiency. * Must be able to handle multiple priorities. * Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening. * May be required to work a temporary schedule due to business needs. * Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude. Required Experience EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. * Food Handler's card required. * RASS or TIPS Certification of alcohol awareness program must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current certification. * Must be 21 years of age or older. EXPERIENCE * Six or more months of related experience preferred.
