Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Senior Software Engineer (Java) Department: Technology & Software Employment Type: Full Time Location: California Description The Senior Software Engineer (Java) will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of enterprisegrade software solutions. This role involves researching emerging technologies, building proofofconcepts, defining technical specifications, and delivering highquality code across the full development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a handson engineer with strong Java expertise, a solid understanding of modern frameworks, and the ability to work effectively in a fastmoving environment. This position requires collaboration with crossfunctional teams, participation in architectural discussions, and ownership of complex engineering challenges. Responsibilities include improving system performance, ensuring scalability, supporting product releases, and resolving customerreported issues to maintain product stability.

- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to address complex engineering challenges.
- Develop proof-of-concept prototypes to validate proposed solutions.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering Management to define functional specifications and design documents for NextLabs products and solutions.
- Lead definition, design, and development of products and components while following architectural best practices.
- Deliver architecture, technical solutions, and production-quality code across the SDLC.
- Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability of NextLabs products.
- Partner with QA and Technical Publications to support testing coverage and technical documentation.
- Collaborate across teams for cohesive system design and implementation.
- Strong Java 8+ hands-on development experience.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and professional software engineering practices.
- Ability to work on complex engineering challenges and build proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Strong software design, architecture, debugging, and implementation capability.
- Data protection / security product experience is highly relevant.
