Morning Glorys farmstand features products from our fields, other Island farms, and beyond. Throughout all seasons, you will find our shelves are overflowing with our cut flowers, vegetables and fruits that we pick fresh daily and offer at the peak of their freshness for you to enjoy. Under the supervision of the Farmstand Manager, the Stocking Supervisor is a full time, hourly position responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction in conformance with established Farm policies, strategies, and procedures. Responsibilities Assists Farmstand Manager and Farmstand Assistant Managers with retail operations. Responsible for receiving all farmstand deliveries accurately and in a timely manner. Inventory of all produce, dairy, grocery weekly. Submits claims and credits with vendors. Maintains proper and consistent rotation of all produce and grocery. Ensures farmstand staff is trained in following proper rotation protocols. Coordinates with Management to expedite full product display priorities such as rollout of new merchandise as well as strategically moving merchandise around the floor to help maximize sales. Maintains organized walk in refrigerators and dry goods stock areas for easy navigation. Assists with training other employees. At times, supervises the opening and closing of the Farmstand. Knowledgeable in price auditing. Responsible for adding new product to POS system for correct inventory and sales reports. Supervise and assists with removal of trash, recycling, and compost in adherence to MGF policies and procedures. Supervises night stocking crews. Works with managers on adherence to fulfill planogram expectations. From time to time other duties may arise and it should be expected that the Stocking Supervisor will assist with the completion of these tasks. Qualifications Must have basic computer software experience and understands basic register functions. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, managerial and organizational skills. Minimum 2 years of relevant grocery and/or retail experience. Previous point of sale experience preferred. Previous Point-of-Sale (POS) experience with managing inventory/supply chain/production in a product or retail company is preferred. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs on a regular basis as well as able to stand for long periods of time and fit to climb stairs. About the Organization Morning Glory Farm, started in 1975 by James and Deborah Athearn, grows about 65 acres of vegetables and small fruits on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Small successive plantings of a wide variety of crops supply the Farmstand from May through December. Crops include sweet corn, lettuce, carrots, beets, tomatoes, melons, potatoes, beans, squash, pumpkins, and more. Our herb garden supplies a full assortment of culinary herbs. We also raise four acres of cut flowers, and small plantings of strawberries, grapes, peaches, and beach plums. We keep beef cows on pasture in Chilmark for which we harvest 45 acres of hay and we also produce eggs, pork and fresh, pasture-raised chickens to sell in the Farmstand. Twenty-three acres of our vegetable fields are farmed using natural practices and only OMRI certified fertilizers and pesticides. We manage the rest of our land with a minimum of pesticides and with attention to the long-term health of the soil. The farm name grew from the vision of the sun rising over lush, green fields, cows with udders full of milk ambling past bountiful gardens and hedgerows lively with honeybees: true wealth of nature's glory. Each year we meet a new crew of farmers, bakers, cooks, and Farmstand staff who become part of the farm family.
