Immediate opening for a  Die Maintenance Technician in  Stevensville, MI who possesses:

• 2+ years of experience fully disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling complex tooling or mechanical equipment
• Working knowledge of measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers, and precision tolerances down to 1/1000 inch
• Die cast die experience preferred
• Mechanically inclined mindset with strong attention to detail

FULL DESCRIPTION:   We are seeking a Die Maintenance Technician to support die maintenance, tooling cleaning, disassembly, reassembly, pressure checking, plumbing, and general manufacturing support in a clean, high-accountability tooling environment. This permanent role is responsible for assisting journeyman tool makers, leadmen, and supervisors while learning and supporting die maintenance processes for die cast dies, plastic injection molds, prototype molds, and related tooling. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, hands-on, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable taking apart, cleaning, inspecting, reassembling, and supporting complex tools and mechanical equipment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting with cleaning dies and tooling
• Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling complex tooling and mechanical equipment
• Learning how tools are assembled, disassembled, cleaned, pressure checked, and plumbed safely
• Supporting plumbing of tools, including water line connections
• Cleaning and pressure-checking tooling as needed
• Transporting materials throughout the manufacturing facility
• Operating basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Supporting journeyman tool makers, leadmen, supervisors, and project managers
• Taking direction and completing assigned work accurately and safely
• Following safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment
• Keeping work areas clean, organized, and well maintained
• Maintaining attention to detail and quality throughout disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly tasks
• Communicating project issues, concerns, or updates to the appropriate lead or project manager
• Working independently and reliably once trained
• Supporting die maintenance, die repair, refurbishing, and tooling-related work
• Assisting with hands-on mechanical projects as needed
• Coaching Level I individuals as assigned to help them reach proficiency
• Performing other duties as assigned

The selected candidate will also possess:

• 2+ years of experience disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling complex tooling or mechanical equipment preferred
• Die cast die experience preferred
• Experience with die maintenance, tooling, molds, or related mechanical equipment preferred
• Experience working with plastic injection molds, prototype molds, or large-tonnage dies preferred
• Mechanical mindset and strong hands-on aptitude required
• Ability to work with precision tolerances down to 1/1000 inch preferred
• Working knowledge of measurement tools required
• Micrometer and caliper experience preferred
• Ability to learn tooling assembly, disassembly, cleaning, pressure checking, and plumbing processes
• Ability to work safely with basic tools and equipment
• Ability to follow directions from journeyman tool makers, leadmen, supervisors, and project managers
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Great communication skills
• Ability to take direction and work well with others
• Ability to complete work with minimal supervision once trained
• Reliable, self-motivated, and mechanically inclined work habits
• Good work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work in a clean, busy, family-oriented manufacturing environment
• Ability to work onsite in Stevensville, MI
• Ability to work 45 to 50 hours per week as needed
• Ability to work day shift hours, typically 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, or 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM when volume is lighter
• Ability to support a full-time, permanent opportunity

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, crouch, kneel, push, pull, lift, carry, and move throughout manufacturing and tooling areas as needed
• Ability to use hands and fingers for disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, plumbing, measuring, inspection, tool use, equipment operation, and standard manufacturing tasks
• Ability to work with dies, molds, tooling, mechanical equipment, water line connections, basic tools, and related manufacturing materials
• Ability to use measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and related precision tools as needed
• Ability to review work instructions, project information, tooling details, and related documentation as needed
• Ability to clean tooling and work areas while maintaining safety, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, transport, or move materials, parts, tools, and equipment as needed
• Ability to work in a manufacturing facility while following all applicable safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment

Salary Range: $20 to $25/hour
