Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties Learning to apply standard Engineering tasks. Begins working knowledge of applicable codes. Performs routine designs and calculations in accordance with established standards. Assists in preparing engineering reports, studies, calculations, etc. as required. Participates in conferences with client to learn how to establish project objectives and resolve technical problems. Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Selected candidate will gain experience working on DOE or DOD government projects working with: Work on HVAC systems Piping/Plumbing layout Develop knowledge base for development of Mechanical drawing packages for construction. Develop working knowledge of Mechanical computer software. Obtain knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE and other applicable codes Job Requirements A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. EIT or ability to obtain EIT within 6 months Demonstrated 0-2 years of previous engineering experience CAD experience with AutoCad or Microstation is a plus Duration Direct Hire Federal Government Clearance This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
