Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

Are you an experienced special education teacher passionate about supporting students in specialized settings? Two rewarding contract opportunities are available for the 2026-2027 school year in the Saint Paul area, starting August 31, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027. These roles offer full-time hours-37.5 hours per week-and the chance to make a profound impact in a single building.


Role A centers on a Setting 3 classroom for students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The caseload consists of approximately 6-10 students, providing individualized support and instruction.


Role B involves teaching in a Setting 3, K-5 program for primarily ASD/DCD students, working closely with a dedicated team that includes three paraprofessionals. This classroom typically serves 8 students, operating from 7:20am to 3:20pm.


Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or 4 only)
• ABS licensure accepted, but EBD or ASD preferred
• Experience in EBD Setting 3 cluster or similar environments
• Deep understanding of autism and cognitive disabilities, and the ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
• Commitment to collaborative team approaches with paraprofessionals and related service providers

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing instruction tailored to each student's needs
• Modifying curriculum and assessments as necessary
• Leading IEP meetings and maintaining compliance with all procedural requirements
• Providing a supportive and structured classroom environment
• Collaborating with families and specialists to promote student growth
