Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a passionate Registered Nurse with psychiatric experience to provide high-quality care on a locked inpatient unit. The role involves working with adult behavioral health patients requiring various clinical interventions and supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients with psychiatric diagnoses, including psychosis, dementia with behavioral disturbances, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety.
• Administer treatments such as wound care, Foley catheter management, IV therapy, and assist with mobility and incontinence care.
• Document patient progress and coordinate care using Epic electronic health records.
• Ensure safety by conducting 15-minute safety checks, 1:1 observations, and maintaining unit security protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across psychiatric and behavioral units.
• Utilize lift equipment and communication tools, including Voalte phones, to support patient care and staff coordination.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NH nursing license and at least 1 year of psychiatric inpatient nursing experience.
• Demonstrate competency with geriatric psych patient care, including managing behavioral disturbances and cognitive impairments.
• Be proficient in wound care, Foley catheter management, IV therapy, and lifts.
• Possess certifications such as BCLS and CPI; AHA or Red Cross certifications preferred.
• Able to work night shifts, 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend.
