Prepared Food Lead

Position Summary Sam’s Club #6378 is seeking a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead to supervise hourly associates, drive sales, and maintain high quality standards across all prepared foods departments. The role requires expertise in prepared foods, strong leadership, and a commitment to operational excellence while fostering a culture of teamwork and integrity. Responsibilities Team Leadership – Supervise the prepared foods team, facilitate rotations through fresh areas, and communicate department goals and company programs. Expertise Maintenance – Ensure the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, sanitation, equipment use, safety, and compliance. Manage seasonality and new product implementation. Technology Utilization – Leverage digital tools to plan sales, improve the shopping experience, and support associate engagement. Operational Ownership – Drive business results, maintain a clean and safe work environment, manage staffing, audit compliance, and coordinate with other departments and vendors for operational continuity. Talent Development – Identify training needs, deliver coaching, support career growth, and source new talent internally and externally. Process Improvement – Develop and implement practices that meet business needs, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities. Ethics & Compliance – Promote adherence to company policies and ethical standards, assist management in resolving compliance issues, and demonstrate integrity in all actions. Customer Focus – Deliver results with a customer‑first mindset, balance short‑term and long‑term priorities, and support the club’s purpose for all stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications Six months of experience in a fresh production department or in supervising a team. Must be 18 years of age or older. Success in completing all required job trainings and assessments within a prescribed time frame. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising a team. Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
