Make a meaningful impact by working as a dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional supporting a high-needs student at the post-secondary transition level. This rewarding contract opportunity is conveniently located near Gresham, OR, and plays an essential role in empowering student growth and independence. The position runs weekdays from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and includes accompanying the student on their bus rides, ensuring consistency and a sense of support throughout the day. You’ll be collaborating closely with an engaged classroom team that includes an experienced paraeducator and a special education teacher, ensuring a nurturing environment where students thrive.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting preferred
• Understanding of diverse learner needs, especially for high-needs students
• Collaborative and adaptable approach to working with educators and support staff
• Ability to foster trust and rapport with students
• Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to providing reliable and consistent support during classroom and bus activities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support and guidance to a high-needs student throughout the day
• Assist with instructional activities and help implement individualized support strategies
• Foster a safe, attentive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Ride the bus with the student, ensuring safety and a smooth transition between home and school
• Cooperate actively with fellow paraprofessionals and the special education teacher
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed
