Logistics Engineer

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) manages worldwide distribution of Caterpillar aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to support our dealer network and customers. Location: Waco, TX. This role is 1st shift and must be performed on‑site five days a week; no hybrid, remote, or relocation options are available. Domestic travel of up to 10% of the time is required. Job Summary The Logistics Engineer implements and continuously improves all logistics processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and capacity. What You Will Do Apply lean manufacturing principles to assist with the implementation of efficient and competitive logistics solutions. Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain functions to define critical parameters and develop plans for process control and improvements. Maintain the internal logistics process engineering standards, knowledge, and tools; assure their implementation in current and new operations. Evaluate logistics processes and workflows, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for process‑related concerns. What You Have (Required Skills) Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment. Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. Systems experience: EWM, SAP, MACH1.
