Bulk Relief Operator

A Day in the Life:

This position is located in the Bunge North America soybean processing plant in Decatur, IN. The Edible Oil Bulk Relief Operator is responsible for safely and accurately loading trucks and rail cars and operating the hydrogenation, EIE, bleaching, deodorization and blending processes. Candidates must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees.

Position Details:

This position covers other operator’s vacation on all shifts. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Hourly pay rate: $32.39

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Load and unload trucks and rail cars
• Transfer oil to the packaging plant and obtain samples
• Wash rail cars
• Monitor gas plant and nitrogen buildings
• Responsible to adhere to the Food Safety Culture to provide safe product to consumers
• Report any concerns with safe food practices
• Monitor processes and make adjustments as needed
• Clean and change filters
• Monitor and record process conditions on log sheets
• Perform department sanitation duties
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
• Must have a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site’s food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic computer and mechanical skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work safely and follow policies and procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willing to work overtime, flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work 2nd / 3rd shift

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience in an industrial environment
