Our organization is on the lookout for a committed OB/GYN Hospitalist to enhance our growing inpatient women's services program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This role provides a collaborative, physician-led care model, robust support from advanced practice providers, and access to extensive maternal-fetal and neonatal resources within a developing regional healthcare system.
This position is perfect for physicians interested in a hospital-centric practice that emphasizes labor and delivery coverage, inpatient obstetrics and gynecology care, and teamwork in medicine.
Position HighlightsFull-time employed OB/GYN Hospitalist position available
Coverage for hospital-based inpatient women's services
Collaborative care model involving physicians and advanced practice providers
Current staffing includes:
Full-time and per diem OB/GYN Hospitalists
Support from advanced practice providers
Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance
Combination of on-site and backup call responsibilities
Dedicated teams for labor and delivery support
In-house neonatal and anesthesia coverage available
Utilization of the Epic EMR system
Opportunity to practice in a high-volume regional referral center
Strong commitment to continuity of women's healthcare services in the community
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree required
Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Board Certification must be achieved within the designated eligibility period
Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina
Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if currently licensed in another state
The OB/GYN Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care, which includes:
Providing labor and delivery coverage along with inpatient obstetrical management
Evaluating and managing obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecological consultations
Performing vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and necessary emergency obstetrical procedures
Managing obstetrical emergencies and collaborating closely with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams
Offering postpartum and inpatient gynecological care
Assisting with surgical backup and urgent gynecological procedures as needed
Working effectively with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
Maintaining timely and accurate documentation in the Epic electronic medical record
Communicating effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination
Participating in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice efforts
Supporting patient experience initiatives and standards of service excellence

Physicians collaborate with experienced labor and delivery nurses, neonatal specialists, anesthesia teams, and advanced practice providers in a supportive environment focused on maternal and infant safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate care.
