The Accounting BI team supports the global Accounting organization with process automation/improvements, developing automated reporting solutions/tools, and improving the ability of the accounting organization to process, analyze, access and consume accurate and timely financial data. The team supports the global accounting organization and partners closely with all technical roles across the org and various businesses and industries Amazon operates in. This role requires an individual with a strong back-end and front-end background to maintain our web portal, deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, optimizing data for business intelligence solutions, and the ability to quickly learn, adapt and work with a variety of technologies. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and build solutions that help to answer those questions. You should be able to architect highly efficient UI solutions (front and back end), making a tradeoff between scalability, performance and user functionality needs, using expert knowledge in software development technologiesThe ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with ambiguity, big data, UI components and enjoys the challenges of highly complex business context. Key job responsibilitiesWorking with stakeholders and other engineering teams to identify and scope the right data architecture and technology to be used to facilitate analysis of most common Amazon customer behavioral questions.Partnering with partner engineering teams to enhance UI solutions, data infrastructure, data availability, and broad access to customer insights made available through BI tools across the organization.Design, build and implement the right solutions using AWS and similar technologies.Enable large scale solutions using Python, React, JavaScript, Typescript and AWS services.Establishing and implementing technology best practices that should be followed across the organization.Work on proof of concepts for adoption of new technology and tools Basic qualifications- 5+ years of data engineering experience- Experience with SQL- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence- Bachelor's degree- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)Preferred qualification - Master's degreeAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
