Marketing Project Manager

Project ManagerTJC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of creative projects across the TJC Marketing, Media, and Communications department.This role is responsible for managing project timelines, coordinating internal teams, tracking deliverables, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work moves efficiently from kickoff through final delivery. The Project Manager serves as the operational hub between the creative team, production partners, and project sponsors, ensuring every project stays organized, on schedule, and within scope. This position includes direct communication with sponsors, but is primarily focused on project coordination through email, project management platforms, status updates, scheduling, and production oversight.Primary ResponsibilitiesProject Management & DeliveryManage multiple creative projects simultaneously from kickoff through final delivery.Build and maintain project schedules, timelines, milestones, and production calendars.Create, assign, and manage tasks within project management system(s).Ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with institutional priorities.Monitor deadlines daily and proactively identify potential risks or delays.Coordinate project workflows across multiple departments.Maintain visibility into every active project and communicate progress to leadership.Creative Team CoordinationCoordinate work between designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, web developers, and production partners.Ensure creative briefs contain complete project information before work begins.Schedule internal creative reviews and production meetings.Prioritize projects based on deadlines, departmental workload, and sponsor needs.Assist leadership with resource planning and project scheduling.Remove roadblocks that prevent efficient project execution.Sponsor CommunicationServe as the day-to-day contact for project sponsors regarding timelines, deliverables, reviews, and scheduling.Communicate project updates primarily through email and project status reports.Coordinate sponsor reviews and gather feedback for the creative team.Schedule meetings and presentations with sponsors when needed.Escalate strategic conversations or complex sponsor issues to the Director.Maintain a professional, responsive, and organized sponsor experience throughout every project.Secondary ResponsibilitiesProduction & Quality AssuranceReview project deliverables for completeness prior to delivery to sponsor.Coordinate print production, digital launches, website deployments, and vendor timelines.Manage project review workflows from concept through final delivery.Ensure files are properly organized, archived, and delivered in the correct formats.Maintain agency quality standards throughout the production process.Workflow & Process ManagementMaintain accurate project documentation within project management, OneDrive, and departmental NAS systems.Track project status, milestones, reviews, and deliverables.Monitor project scope and notify leadership of potential scope changes.Help improve project management processes and workflow efficiency.Support departmental operations by ensuring project information remains accurate and accessible.CompetenciesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProject Management, Organization, Time Management, Workflow Coordination, Communication, Collaboration/Teamwork, Problem Solving, Quality Assurance, Adaptability, Attention to Detail, Process Improvement, AccountabilitySupervisory ResponsibilitiesIndividual ContributorWork Environment: Work required outside of normal business hoursPhysical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, liftingTravel Required: Yes- MinimalIf travel is required, the candidate must have and maintain a current, valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.Who You AreRequired EducationBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, project management, design, or a related fieldRequired ExperienceThree years of project management experience within a creative agency, marketing department, or similar environment.Preferred EducationMaster's degree in marketing, communications, business, project management, design, or a related fieldAdditional Job-Specific RequirementsStrong understanding of branding, creative production, marketing, digital media, and print production workflows.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide clear and professional updates to sponsors.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Experience with project management SAAS systems required, experience with Wrike strongly preferred.Experience with Marq (formerly Lucid Press) is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products.Additional InformationPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. There are two plans for employees to choose from, both administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield. With either plan, you have access to a network of over 10,000 medical and mental health providers in Texas. Both plans include a comprehensive prescription drug program through Optum Rx. Employee's premium is fully funded by the College and State. Dependent premiums are funded 75% by the College and State, and 25% by the employee. Basic Life Term Life Insurance The State provides employees a term life insurance policy of $5,000 with $5,000 accidental death and dismemberment. Long-Term Disability This benefit is made available by the State and is fully funded by the College. Approved benefit pays 60% of insurance salary after 180-day elimination period. Benefits are paid until your return to work, reach full Social Security retirement age or are no longer considered disabled under the plan. Optional Term Life Insurance With this optional plan, employees may purchase one to four times their annual salary in life insurance. The College funds one times the annual salary premium not to exceed $120 annually. Optional Insurance (Coverage fully funded by the employee) Dental Insurance Two dental insurance plans are available to full-time employees and eligible dependents. Vision Insurance The health insurance plan covers some vision and eye health services, but does not cover the cost of eyeglasses and contact lenses. Additional vision insurance is offered to full-time employees and eligible dependents to help offset those costs. Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment This optional benefit provides additional financial support when there is an accidental death or injury of a certain type.
