JOB SUMMARY

The Store Director assumes a strategic leadership role, guiding the overall operations of the store to ensure it thrives both culturally and financially. With a deep commitment to company core values and a servant-leadership mindset, they foster a high-performing environment through training, mentorship, and example. They oversee total store performance, including profit and loss accountability, employee relations, merchandise presentation, customer experience, and facility standards. By collaborating closely with department managers and team members, the Store Director ensures operational excellence, team morale, and a consistent, value-driven shopping experience.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Consistently participates in open communication with team members on a regular basis, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication. Promotes a high level of morale throughout the store. Encourages teamwork by example and communicates that our success will be dependent upon teamwork.
• Shares and accepts ideas for store profitability and guest service. Continually solicits guest feedback to help improve sales and service.
• Maintains a good working relationships with management and supervisory team members with the objective of improved sales storewide.
• Has a basic working knowledge of all departments within the store.
• Has a solid understanding of the financial aspects of managing a business, controlling expenses and ability to fully utilize management reports, forecasting tools and financial statements.
• Is willing and able to use technology to enhance the operation of the store.
• Maximizes store sales and profits through in-store merchandising.
• Maintains effective store security in compliance with company policies and directives, including secure control of safe and bank deposits.
• Analyzes all aspects of store operations and services, and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements.
• Maintains an awareness of competitive activity within the store marketing area.
• Maintains effective control of wage and material expense, productivity and inventories in line with established budgets; maintains a labor percentage consistent with the current budgeted level.
• Communicates all company policies, programs and directives to store team members and achieves compliance through management and supervisory staff.
• Continually enforces company standards concerning team member appearance and dress.
• Oversees hiring, promoting, transferring, disciplining, terminating, wage rates, and evaluating of all store's team members. Ensures all processes are completed properly and timely.
• Ensures compliance with all company policies, procedures, and programs; and all applicable Federal, State and local regulations through the store.
• Continually refers to Team Member Code of Conduct and Company Handbook and other manuals to ensure compliance with any updates or changes.
• Conducts weekly department meetings.
• Attends and contributes to department, store and company meetings.
• Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and throughout the store through training and education of self and other team members.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
