Alterations Associate - Madison Avenue

Summary The Alterations Associate provides full‑service alterations and fitting support for high‑end garments at the Madison Avenue boutique. This role is responsible for pinning, marking, fitting, and executing alterations to meet customer and manufacturing specifications. The associate works closely with sales staff to ensure exceptional client service during fittings. Responsibilities Fit, alter, repair, and make made‑to‑measure clothing according to customer and manufacturing specifications Partner with sales associates to service clients and provide exceptional service during fittings Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches using needles, thread, or sewing machines as necessary Fit on customers, ensure proper sizing, and confirm alterations meet sales associates’ and customers’ requirements Communicate with clients to understand needs and explain the alterations process Transport garments between fittings and the alterations area and handle garments carefully Requirements Minimum 4 years experience in boutique or store environments, ideally altering luxury garments Proven knowledge of alterations equipment and experience sewing dresses and high‑end materials with complicated construction Ability to interact professionally with clients during fittings and explain the alterations process Highly motivated, detail oriented, and able to work efficiently under pressure to complete projects on time Physical ability to bend and kneel during fittings and lift and carry garments (including gowns up to 10 lbs) and navigate stairs as needed #J-18808-Ljbffr brobstongroup.com - Jobboard
