Job Title: Engineering Technician - Power Supplies

Pay Rate: $22-$30 Per Hour

This role focuses on the repair, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic power supplies and related components at the component level. The technician uses advanced soldering and desoldering techniques to repair, modify, and replace parts on electronic circuit boards and set-top box units, with a strong emphasis on RF (radio frequency) systems. The position requires hands-on work with radio antennas, amplifier transmitters, and heavy electronic equipment, as well as accurate data entry and effective communication in English within a collaborative technical team.

Responsibilities

• Use soldering and desoldering equipment to repair, modify, and replace components on electronic circuit boards and set-top box units.
• Perform component-level soldering repairs, including surface mount and thru-hole components on printed circuit boards.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs) at the component level, ensuring proper functionality and quality.
• Diagnose and repair power supplies, ensuring they meet performance and safety specifications.
• Work with radio antennas and amplifier transmitters, applying RF (radio frequency) knowledge to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Operate and handle heavy electronic equipment of 50+ lbs, such as sliding radios on a conveyor belt, while following safety procedures.
• Use multimeters and other electronic test equipment to perform measurements and verify repairs.
• Read and interpret electronic schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation to guide repair activities.
• Perform basic computer tasks, including data entry and navigation of computer applications such as MS Office, to document work and test results.
• Communicate clearly in English with team members and trainers to follow instructions, participate in training, and coordinate work activities.
• Complete and pass a technical aptitude test as part of the qualification process and apply the learned concepts in daily work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow established procedures and quality standards for electronic repair.

Essential Skills

• Electronics certification.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Repair Technician or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience repairing power supplies.
• Proficiency in soldering and desoldering techniques, including surface mount and thru-hole soldering on PCBs.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic circuit components and electronic theory.
• Experience in component-level soldering repair.
• RF (radio frequency) acumen for working with radio antennas and amplifier transmitters.
• Proficiency with multimeters and basic electronic test equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical diagrams.
• Successful completion of a technical aptitude test.
• Basic computer literacy, including data entry and the ability to navigate computer applications such as MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English for training and teamwork.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• IPC certification.
• Experience with oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Previous experience with Ericsson repairs.
• Hands-on experience with soldering PCBs, de-soldering, surface mount soldering, thru-hole soldering, and working on PCB boards.
• Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting and IPC standards.
• Interest in working within a large-scale engineering, repair, and logistics environment that supports major wireless telecommunications and high-speed internet and cable providers.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role is based in a large-scale engineering, repair, and logistics facility that supports major wireless telecommunications and high-speed internet and cable providers. The environment involves working at electronic repair stations with soldering tools, multimeters, and other test equipment, and may include the use of oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. Technicians work with heavy electronic equipment of 50+ lbs, such as radios on conveyor systems, while following safety practices. The setting is collaborative and technology-driven, with structured processes, English-language training, and the use of computer applications for documentation and data entry.

This is a Permanent position based out of West Chester, PA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
