Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Juvenile Probation Officer role located in Georgia, United States. The Juvenile Probation Officer monitors and supervises youth on probation, ensuring compliance with court orders and departmental policies. Daily responsibilities include conducting home and office visits, completing risk and needs assessments, developing case plans, and maintaining accurate case records and documentation. The role involves coordinating services with treatment providers, schools, community programs, and families to support youth rehabilitation and positive development. The Juvenile Probation Officer may appear in court, provide reports and recommendations to judges, respond to violations, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to promote youth accountability and public safety. Qualifications Knowledge of Juvenile Justice systems and practices, with an understanding of youth development and rehabilitation. Experience or training in Law Enforcement or related public safety fields, including familiarity with legal and court procedures. Background in Probation supervision, including monitoring compliance, enforcing conditions, and coordinating community-based interventions. Case Management skills to assess needs, create service plans, track progress, and connect youth and families with appropriate resources. Understanding of Criminology principles, including risk factors, prevention strategies, and evidence-based interventions. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with youth, families, courts, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to manage time, handle multiple cases, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain professional boundaries. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
