Maintenance Technician ( 2nd Shift)

Industrial Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday, 3p- 11pm)Hood Container Corporation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our Tampa, Florida Location.What You'll DoPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on corrugate equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Troubleshoot and repair corrugate-related issues such as drives, motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers, glue systems, steam systems, and controls.Diagnose breakdowns under production pressure and restore equipment quickly and safely.Read and interpret schematics, electrical prints, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and PLC-related documentation.Work with AC/DC drives, VFDs, servo systems, encoders, and PLC-controlled corrugator equipment.Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and recommend long-term fixes.Document maintenance work accurately in the CMMS system.Partner with operations to improve machine reliability, uptime, and preventive maintenance effectiveness.Follow OSHA and Hood Container safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).Support vision systems, glue control systems, and automation tied to machine operations.Perform other duties as assigned.What You BringPreferred Experience & EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.Hands-on maintenance experience required.Experience in a corrugated packaging plant, with direct corrugator experience nice to have.OR a relevant technical degree, certification, or completed apprenticeship may substitute for experience.Technical SkillsStrong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.Proven ability to troubleshoot live production equipment.Solid understanding of electrical testing, meters, and schematics.Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and PLC-controlled machinery.Comfortable using power tools and performing welding, basic fabrication, HVAC, and electrical troubleshooting.Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.Physical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead.Comfortable working around moving machinery, heat, cold, and heights.Willingness to work overtime as needed.Why You'll Love Working at Hood ContainerCareer Growth: Ongoing training and advancement opportunities.Team-Oriented Culture: Your expertise is respected and valued.Stable, Growing Industry: Nationwide leader in corrugated packaging.Hood Container is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.Ready to make an impact on critical corrugator operations?
