The Hydraulic Assembler reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams to install, connect, and test hydraulic components that bring aerial lift units to full operational status. This role ensures hydraulic systems are built to exact specifications, function reliably, and are thoroughly tested for safety and performance. The position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who takes pride in producing clean, precise hydraulic installations that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to determine assembly and installation requirements.
• Install, connect, and assemble hydraulic components and systems on aerial lift units according to specifications and production schedules.
• Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, both electric and pneumatic, to perform mechanical and hydraulic assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
• Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting to identify issues with valves, hoses, fittings, pumps, and related components, and carry out necessary repairs.
• Test hydraulic systems to verify proper operation, performance, and safety, making adjustments and corrections as needed.
• Label, route, and secure hydraulic lines and components to ensure clean, organized, and serviceable installations.
• Operate overhead cranes, jacks, and forklifts to move and position large components, truck chassis, and assemblies within the shop environment.
• Work in and around large truck chassis, including climbing ladders, crawling under equipment, and lifting parts and tools up to 50 lbs.
• Collaborate with production team members to meet daily and weekly build targets while maintaining high quality standards.
• Document work performed and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers about issues, progress, and improvement opportunities.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when using tools, equipment, and lifting devices, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adapt to flexible work hours as needed to support production demands and potential shift changes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic system installation or equivalent technical training.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong general mechanical capability and hands-on mechanical assembly experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
• Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools, both electric and pneumatic, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, jacks, and forklifts in a shop or manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working in and around large truck chassis, including climbing ladders and crawling under equipment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and teamwork.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production requirements.

• Preferred: CDL Class B license or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with hydraulic assembly, installation, and repair in a production or fabrication setting.
• Familiarity with valves, labeling practices, and production workflows in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic welding experience or exposure to welding processes in support of mechanical assembly.
• Comfort using power tools and working with fabrication equipment as part of the assembly process.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, precise hydraulic installations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues.

This role is based in a shop environment within a fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on building aerial lift units. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an expected 48-hour workweek. There is potential for a second shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and flexibility is expected to support production demands. Work involves operating overhead cranes, jacks, and forklifts, as well as using a wide range of hand and power tools. The position requires regular work in and around large truck chassis, including climbing ladders, crawling under equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The environment emphasizes safety, efficiency, and collaboration while maintaining organized workspaces and adherence to manufacturing processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
