Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN Circulator for a critical access hospital, requiring strong orthopedic surgery experience and call coverage.

Details

• Operating Room unit at a critical access hospital offering general surgery services
• Circulator role supporting procedures including laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, cholecystectomy, soft tissue mass excisions, colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and oncologic surgery for breast or colon cancer
• Day shift schedule, 9-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
• Weekend requirement of one weekend per month (Friday to Monday), with holiday coverage required if needed
• On-call requirement of 10 shifts per month, including one weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday 24-hour shifts) and rotating holidays
• Call hours run from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM the next day, Monday through Thursday

Requirements

• Active VT RN license or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of current OR experience in a hospital setting
• Strong Circulator experience with orthopedic surgery required
• Minimum 3 months of travel nursing experience required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Skills checklist for Operating Room required, current within 1 year
• One supervisory signed reference required from within the past two years of employment

Additional Information

• Provide circulating support for general surgery cases including abdominal, soft tissue, and trauma procedures
• General surgeon is on call for urgent/emergent cases such as appendectomy, bowel obstruction relief, and complex laceration repair
• Must work two holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted for the duration of the assignment
• All scheduling and RTO requests must be submitted and verified prior to offer; requests made after offer or at interview will not be approved
