Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

Overview Brayman Construction in Saxonburg, PA, is looking for an experienced Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team. We are seeking a career-oriented, experienced Shop Based Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work with our Field Support Team to support our growing operations in the region. Responsibilities Diagnose heavy equipment malfunctions, and conduct repairs in a timely fashion to maximize equipment uptime. Perform preventative maintenance as required. Complete work orders. Perform work in a safe and efficient manner. Follow company safety standards and participate in job hazard analysis and morning safety meetings. Qualifications 5+ years of related heavy equipment repair experience preferred. Previous experience with cranes and drilling equipment is a plus. Strong diagnostic skills including the ability to understand and use hydraulic and electrical schematics. Previous rigging training, Certified Crane Operator, and operator training a plus. Related OEM/ Dealer and Military training are also a plus. Clean driving record and a Commercial Driver's License or the ability to qualify to obtain one a plus. Basic computer skills to use laptop computer and smart phone for diagnostic tools, service manual review and completion of work orders and time entry. A positive can-do attitude to work in conjunction with the Field Support team in a dynamic fast paced environment. Must supply own tools. Work Environment Works both indoors and outdoors. Environment can be dirty and noisy. Wears appropriate protective clothing and equipment including gloves, ear protection, safety glasses and respirators when necessary. Physical Demands Lifting up to 50 lbs. Stands frequently and walks about the work areas. Occasionally stretches up and across when completing daily tasks. Squatting, crouching or kneeling may be required occasionally. Twisting the body or neck may be required occasionally. Bending is occasionally required to facilitate the lifting of items used daily. Contact with skin irritants or water may occur during certain processes. Repetitive hand and arm movements are required when operating machinery. The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Educational Qualifications High School Diploma.
