Senior Software Engineer - Algo Development

Company Overview
A global alternative investment management firm with a multi-strategy approach is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Algo Development. The firm is known for its advanced technology and sophisticated modeling techniques to manage risk and identify investment opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Build real-time algorithmic trading systems focused on execution optimization.
- Support and enhance Java-based homegrown trading framework.
- Work on performance tuning of existing systems.
- Partner with a dedicated support team to ensure production plant is monitored and supported.
- Collaborate with Quants, Execution Traders, and global teams.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with buy-side equities execution systems.
- Experience developing execution algos like VWAP/TWAP/Inline/PAIRS etc.
- Experience working on Matching Engines/Dark Pools.
- Experience implementing automated testing strategies for algos (simulation, backtesting, regression suites, replay frameworks).
- Deep understanding of market microstructure, pretrade risk checks, limit frameworks, regulatory requirements and their effect on performance of execution algos.
- Expert-level Java, with extensive experience building low-latency, GC-aware, high-throughput distributed systems.
- Strong grasp of distributed, event-driven architectures and messaging (e.g., Kafka, Solace, or similar).
- Experience working with or building algo container frameworks.
Compensation
Salary: $175,000 – $250,000, plus bonus.
